Pharoah's Horses by JF Herring 1848

J.F. Herring’s painting “Pharaoh’s Horses” first exhibited in 1848 under the title “Pharaoh’s Chariot Horses.”


Herring was known as the "Coachman Painter" as he drove horse-drawn coaches.  He was also a sign-writer.  For thirty-three years in succession he painted the winners of the races at St. Leger.  From 1826 he exhibited at the Royal Academy.
